Phantom Virus

Chapter 1 - Rebirth

-PV-

-Rey’s POV-

It has always been the four of us, ever since that fateful day. Was it merely a coincidence? I don't believe in coincidences, though, I do believe in inevitability. Maybe that's what it was - inevitability. Who knows?

FLASHBACK-

"Nyte, give me back my cookies, now!"Ice yelled, chasing Nyte, while trying to recover his stolen cookies.

"Never! You'll go all hyper!" Nyte replied with a grin as he kept on running.

"Nyte, watch out!" Ice warned his friend, who was about to crash right into me.

"Ow! Ah, I'm so sorry. I wasn't looking at where I was going." Nyte immediately apologized.

"No problem." I replied, simply. I was better to forgive and forget rather than get involved and cause even bigger and more troublesome problems; I hated dealing with bothersome situations.

“Nyte, are you okay?” Ice asked his friend who was on the floor.

“I’m good, thanks.” Nyte replied with a smile.

“NO!” Ice suddenly yelled.

“What’s wrong?” Nyte asked, alertly.

“M-my cookies!” Ice exclaimed.

When Nyte had ran into me, it seemed like Ice’s cookies somehow ended up as a pile of crumbs left on the floor.

“I’ll buy you new ones.” A voice behind them offered.

“Yay, cookies! Let’s go!” Ice exclaimed as both he and the stranger left, leaving Nyte, who was still on the floor, all alone.

They were at an event hall, which currently had some kind of music expo going on. There were people everywhere and you could easily get lost in the crowd.

“Ice, don’t leave me, meanie!” Nyte yelled after his friend, but it was too late. He wandered around the expo alone, in search of Ice.

Meanwhile, Ice was with the stranger in the food court trying to decide between chocolate-chip or double-chocolate cookies.

“Which one, I can’t choose?” Ice mumbled to nobody in particular.

“Get them both, my treat.” The stranger suggested with a sincere smile.

“Really? Thanks! You’re so kind. What’s your name?” Ice asked, delighted.

“Oh, I’m Kei, and you?” the stranger replied.

“Ice. You’re my new best friend!” Ice declared as he started munching on his cookies.

During that time, Nyte had somehow gotten lost in the crowd.

“I lost him, again. Nothing can stop Ice from his cookies.” Nyte sighed.

I, who hated crowded and noisy places, was at the moment standing in the corner, away from the crowd, with my eyes closed and headphones on, to help drown out the noise. 

I wasn’t listening to anything in particular, in other words, I was wearing headphones but they weren’t turned on let alone plugged into my iPod. They were merely there to stop people from talking to me and to drown out the noise around me, but mainly to stop people from starting a conversation with me; it kept people away from me. Nyte, however, had just gotten out of the crowd and came to stand right beside me. As more people came in, it became even more crowded.

“Ah, I’m sorry.” Nyte apologized to me when the crowd caused him to lose balance. 

“Hey, it’s the guy from earlier.” Nyte said to himself. My eyes were already closed so I pretended as if I couldn’t hear him.

“He’s asleep? He can fall asleep in a place like this?” Nyte mumbled.

True. You couldn’t exactly fall asleep here even if you wanted to. It was, as I said, a music expo meaning there was always loud music playing in the background. It ranged from rock to classic and there were also some people who combined multiple types.

You’d think that everything between us four would have ended with just this meeting, but I guess things never turn out as we thought. After all, everything that happens is inevitable.

So? How was it? Hahaha, you'll have to wait for more! You're probably wondering how I know the Phantoms so well? Ha. Well, let's just say that I personally got help from them after joining the PhantomZ Group. Their personalities are so different from each other and somewhat unique it was extremely entertaining for me to write this too. Anyways, I hoped you enjoyed it...this is not the whole chapter 1! There's more...if you got bored, don't worry...this chapter is boring but the later ones will focus on each member's past and personal lives! Mwahahaha...I feel like a stalker...but it wasn't my intention, they just asked so nicely! :3
